MAX485ESA+T Half-Duplex RS-485/RS-422 Transceiver – SOIC-8 – Analog Devices

The MAX485ESA+T is a low-power, half-duplex RS-485/RS-422 transceiver IC designed for robust, high-speed differential communication over long distances. Operating from a single 5V supply, it supports data rates up to 2.5 Mbps, making it suitable for industrial automation, sensor networks, distributed control systems, and embedded communication interfaces.

With support for up to 32 transceivers on the same bus, the MAX485ESA+T provides excellent multi-node performance. Its enhanced receiver design offers fail-safe operation, ensuring a logic-high output when inputs are left open or shorted. The device also integrates driver short-circuit protection and thermal shutdown, improving reliability in electrically noisy or harsh environments.

Housed in a compact SOIC-8 package and supplied in lead-free tape-and-reel format, the MAX485ESA+T is ideal for space-constrained surface-mount designs.
