The Texas Instruments ISO3082DWR is a robust, 2.5-kVrms galvanically isolated, half-duplex RS-485/RS-422 transceiver designed for reliable data transmission in electrically noisy industrial environments. Featuring integrated capacitive isolation technology, it protects communication systems from high-voltage transients, ground loops, and common-mode noise.
The device supports communication speeds up to 200 kbps and operates with independent logic-side (3.15–5.5V) and bus-side (4.5–5.5V) power supplies, making it ideal for mixed-voltage systems. With a 1/8 unit load receiver, the ISO3082DWR allows up to 256 nodes on a single RS-485 bus, enabling highly scalable designs.
Enhanced safety and reliability features include fail-safe receiver outputs, thermal shutdown protection, and ±12 kV HBM ESD protection on bus pins. Its wide operating temperature range (-40°C to +85°C) ensures dependable performance in industrial automation, motor control, energy systems, and isolated communication interfaces.
