The RV4056 Standalone Lithium-Ion Battery Charger IC is a complete constant-current/constant-voltage linear charger designed for single-cell Li-ion batteries. Packaged in a compact SOP-8, it requires minimal external components, making it ideal for portable and USB-powered charging applications. This IC supports USB or wall adapter input, enabling flexible integration across various battery-powered devices.
With a programmable charge current up to 1A, preset 4.2V charge voltage, and a 2.9V trickle charge threshold, the RV4056 ensures safe and efficient charging. Its internal PMOSFET architecture eliminates the need for blocking diodes, preventing reverse current flow. The built-in thermal regulation loop moderates charge current to maintain safe operating temperatures during high-power or high-temperature conditions.
The RV4056 also features automatic recharge, under-voltage lockout, current monitoring, and status indication pins for input presence and charge termination. It is widely used as a reliable alternative to the TP4056 in Li-ion charging circuits.
