The 74HC4051 is a high-speed, low-power 8-channel analog multiplexer/demultiplexer designed using advanced Si-gate CMOS technology. Pin-compatible with the classic 4051 family, this device supports an exceptionally wide analog voltage range from –5V to +5V, making it suitable for mixed-signal switching, signal routing, and general-purpose analog selection applications.
With three digital select inputs (S0–S2), an active-LOW enable pin (E), eight I/O channels (Y0–Y7), and a common terminal (Z), the 74HC4051 enables flexible signal routing. Its low ON-resistance, high noise immunity, and low CMOS power dissipation ensure stable and efficient performance in demanding electronic systems.
The device supports logic-level translation, enabling 5V logic to interface with ±5V analog signals, ideal for microcontroller-based mixed-signal designs. It complies with JEDEC JESD8C and JESD7A standards and includes strong ESD protection for reliable operation across industrial and extended temperature ranges.
