The LM317T from STMicroelectronics is a reliable and versatile adjustable voltage regulator IC capable of providing an output voltage range from 1.25V to 37V with a maximum output current of 1.5A. It is widely used in linear power supplies, battery chargers, and voltage regulation circuits requiring flexible output control.
Housed in a TO-220 through-hole package, the LM317T offers excellent thermal performance and easy heat sinking for higher current applications. The output voltage is set using only two external resistors, simplifying circuit design and reducing component count. The device can also be configured as a constant current source, making it suitable for LED drivers and current regulation applications.
The LM317T includes built-in protection features such as internal current limiting, thermal shutdown, and safe operating area compensation.
