DS1307ZN+ Real-Time Clock IC – I²C RTC with 56-Byte NV RAM – SOIC-8

The DS1307ZN+ from Analog Devices (formerly Maxim Integrated) is a low-power Real-Time Clock (RTC) IC designed for accurate timekeeping and calendar functions in embedded systems. Operating from a 4.5V to 5.5V supply, this RTC maintains full time and date information including seconds, minutes, hours (12/24-hour format), day, date, month, and year with automatic leap-year compensation up to 2100.

With its I²C serial interface, the DS1307ZN+ integrates seamlessly with microcontrollers while offering 56 bytes of battery-backed SRAM for non-volatile data storage. It also features automatic power-fail detection and a smooth switchover to backup power, ensuring continuous timekeeping with minimal current consumption (< 500 nA in backup mode).

Designed for precision and reliability, the on-chip oscillator supports a 32.768 kHz crystal, and the device includes a programmable square-wave output for timing applications.
