The NE555DR from Texas Instruments is one of the most widely used and trusted precision timer ICs, capable of generating accurate time delays, pulses, and oscillations. Packaged in a compact SOIC-8, this SMD version offers high reliability for modern PCB designs across consumer, industrial, aerospace, and embedded applications.
The NE555 operates in both monostable (one-shot) and astable (oscillator) modes. In monostable mode, timing is set with just one resistor–capacitor network. In astable mode, frequency and duty cycle are independently adjustable using two resistors and a capacitor. With an output stage that can source or sink up to 200 mA, the NE555DR can directly drive LEDs, relays, buzzers, and logic circuits.
Supporting a supply range of 5V to 15V and fully TTL-compatible outputs at 5V, this timer IC remains a reliable building block for countless timing, counting, and waveform generation applications.
