The TIP122 from STMicroelectronics is a high-performance NPN Darlington transistor designed for power amplification and switching applications. With a collector-emitter voltage rating of 100V and a continuous collector current of up to 5A, it is well suited for motor control, solenoid drivers, power supplies, and other high-current industrial applications.

This transistor features low collector-emitter saturation voltage and robust construction for reliable operation in demanding environments. It supports a peak collector current of 8A and offers a maximum power dissipation of up to 65W at case temperature ≤ 25°C. The TIP122 operates over a wide temperature range and is designed for general-purpose linear and switching applications.

Housed in a TO-220 package, it provides excellent thermal performance and easy heat sinking for high-power designs. Its Darlington configuration ensures high current gain, making it ideal for driving loads directly from logic-level control circuits.
